Many have asked, "Why do you have special edition when you already have Custom line and a completely line of drum series" Each of our special edition drums are created by inspired drummer around the world......sometimes it's created from the inspiration of our veteran drum craftsman/master. Is Maple better than Birch? How about Rosewood or Bird's Eye Maple? Who determines the ranking of the wood? As special edition, no boundary or subjectivists is set, thus eliminated stereotype like higher level drum kit must use certain kind of hoop or veneer. At Dixon, we do not look for the easiest way to make a drum; we look for the best way to make a great sounding drum.
